The BQ25505RGRR utilizes a novel low quiescent current, high-efficiency, pulse-width modulated (PWM) switching converter architecture. This architecture enables the device to provide a highly efficient power conversion while providing a wide input voltage range.The chip includes an internal DC/DC switching regulator that utilizes an external inductor and an external feedback system with a current- sense resistor to accurately regulate the output voltage. The output voltage is set through the feedback pin voltage, where the voltage level at the feedback pin is compared with the internal reference voltage (VREF) to control the output voltage.The device also contains an I2C interface for external system control. The I2C allows for programming and monitoring of the output voltage and the status of the converter, allowing for a safe and efficient power system management system.The BQ25505RGRR also contains a programmable active over-voltage protection (AOP) circuit which allows the device to be safely operated.
