CDCE906PWR is a low-cost, low-power clock generator and PLL (Phase-Locked Loop) which combines an oscillator and a PLL in one package. The device has been designed for use in a variety of applications including digital clocking and clock distribution for telecommunications, datacom and consumer applications.
The device operates in either a frequency synthesizer or in a PLL-based clock generator mode depending on the application. In frequency synthesizer mode, the oscillator provides a wide range of output frequencies and is used to achieve high stability and accuracy. In clock generator mode, the PLL is used to generate multiple clocks with very low jitter.
The CDCE906PWR uses a combination of voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) and phase detector to provide a wide frequency range. In frequency synthesizer mode, it is capable of generating frequencies up to 132 MHz with very low jitter. In clock generator mode, it can produce multiple clocks with frequencies up to 125 MHz with less than 0.5ps jitter.
The CDCE906PWR also features an on-chip frequency correction loop, which allows it to compensate for aging and temperature variations. This helps the device to maintain its accuracy over time. The device also features an integrated voltage regulator to ensure stable output voltage.
