CM150DUS-12F is a 1200V, 15A (depending on configuration) Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT) Module composed of parallel connected IGBTs and Fast Recovery Free-wheel Diodes. It is rated with high current, low on-state voltage drop, soft switching technology and low electromagnetic interference (EMI). The combination provides an economical solution for applications such as motor control, DC-DC converters, uninterruptible power supplies, welding machines, photovoltaic inverters, traction inverters, brushed and brushless DC motor drives and heat pumps.The CM150DUS-12F can be configured in either a dual-brick, single-brick or multiple-brick application. In dual-brick configuration, two IGBT modules are connected in parallel to share the load equally. In single-brick configuration, a single IGBT module is used to power the entire load. In multiple-brick configuration, multiple IGBT modules in series or parallel with other components such as free-wheel diodes can be used to power the load.The working principle of the CM150DUS-12F is based on the gate turn-on and gate turn-off of the IGBTs. The gate voltage of the IGBT is set to a predetermined value, this value is then adjusted depending on the load requirements. The load condition will then determine the magnitude of the IGBT gate voltage.When the gate voltage is set to a certain predetermined voltage, the IGBT will turn on, allowing the current to pass through the device. The current passing through the device is determined by the load condition. When the load current reaches the set value, the IGBT will turn off, thus breaking the current path and releasing the stored energy in the device.
