Working Principle:
The CPDU5V0U-HF is a diode designed to limit high voltage surges and peaks in order to protect downstream components. The CPDU5V0U-HF will clamp the voltage at its breakdown voltage (Vbr maximum) to provide protection to downstream components.
The TVS diode works by having the anode connected to ground, and the cathode connected to the input signal. The diode is reverse-biased so that when the signal voltage reaches its maximum peak, the diode will rapidly switch on and effectively clamp the voltage. As the signal voltage decreases, the TVS diode will slowly turn off, allowing the signal voltage to return to its normal equilibrium state.
