CY2308SXC-1H is a novel clock generator and voltage controlled oscillator designed for communication, data conversion and timing applications. It can be used in all communication systems such as SONET, DWDM, ZSDR, PCS, and more. It offers high tunable oscillator accuracy and stability, which is also ideal for clock and reference frequency generation. It is manufactured using standard CMOS process technologies, making it a cost-effective solution for multi-frequency applications.
The CY2308SXC-1H generates precise clock and timing signals with an excellent frequency stability and accuracy. It is a clock generator that provides both the desired frequency and voltage stability to optimize performance. It provides the flexibility of both clock and voltage-controlled oscillations, and has the ability to switch between both sources at any time.
CY2308SXC-1H features excellent frequency tuning characteristics. Its frequency can be tuned in 1Hz/V increments, with a switchable frequency range of 1MHz to 25MHz. The frequency is also tunable across a wide range of output levels, including Low-Voltage Differential Signaling (LVDS), Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) or TTL outputs. The Output Time to Lock (OTL) feature of the CY2308SXC-1H allows for quick and easy frequency switching.
At the core of the CY2308SXC-1H is an eight-channel Phase-Locked Loop (PLL), that allows for precise and stable frequency synthesis. The PLL consists of a VCO (Voltage Controlled Oscillator), a reference oscillator and a programmable loop filter that determines the loop filter and gain settings required for stable operation. The reference input filter is used to filter out noise, while the loop filter is used to achieve accurate operation in either high- or low-speed mode. The PLL also contains a programmable rate converter that is used to convert the input clock frequency to the desired output frequency.
The CY2308SXC-1H includes other features, such as programmable skew, phase shift and holdover, PLL loop locking and non-overlap control. The skew and phase features provide precise phase adjustments to the output clock. The phase shift and holdover allow for fine delay synchronization as well as phase shifting between two clock signals. The PLL loop locking and non-overlap control provide accurate frequency control of the output signal, preventing mis-operation due to phase-lock contention.
