CY23S05SI-1 is a clock generator, phase-locked loop (PLL), and frequency synthesizer designed for telecom and data communications applications. It utilizes a tuned frequency synthesizer topology which allows for operations with a wide range of minimal jitter and low power consumption requirements. The device is also self-calibrating, which helps to ensure smooth operation with minimal tuning time.
The CY23S05SI-1 operates as a fixed-frequency master clock generator and PLL to generated several output clocks with a frequency range of 11.3 MHz to 88.6 MHz, depending on the selected input clock frequency. All output frequencies are selected by the customer via two pins (FR0 & FR1), which can be further divided by an internal divider to provide an additional frequency division range of 66.6 MHz to 5.471 KHz. In addition, these outputs can be synchronized with a customer-selected reference clock and/or an external enable signal.
The CY23S05SI-1 is also capable of operating up to two PLLs in parallel. The first PLL is used for synchronous operation of the output clocks with a reference clock, while the second PLL can be used for reducing jitter through synchronization of multiple output clocks together into a single clock. The device also has an enhanced jitter attenuator (EJA) which utilizes an internal loop-filter to reduce peak-to-peak jitter of the device\'s output clock. Finally, the CY23S05SI-1 provides an enable output, which can be used to enable/disable the output clocks.
The CY23S05SI-1 includes several features to reduce system power consumption. It is a low-power device, using an industry-compatible 3.3 V single voltage supply and running at 33 mA for the 7 x 7 mm 28-pin QFN package.
