In dual-edge write mode, data is written to the FIFO on both the rising and falling edges of the write clock. In variable latency write mode, data is written to the FIFO on the rising edge of the write clock after a specific number of delay cycles.

In read mode, data is read from the FIFO on the rising edge of the read clock (RD_CLK). In dual-edge read mode, data is read from the FIFO on both the rising and falling edges of the read clock. In variable latency read mode, data is read from the FIFO on the rising edge of the read clock after a specific number of delay cycles. The CY7C429-15JXC also has programmable flag logic to indicate when data is present. The flag logic is used to detect when data is present in the FIFO and can be used as an interrupt source to alert the host of the presence of data.
