The DEMO9S08SG32 evaluation board is a stand-alone microcontroller (MCU) based device used for system-level debugging and testing of Microchip\'s low-power S08 8-bit MCU platform. The board supports all of the on-chip peripherals available on the S08 MCU family, such as 8-channels of DMA, up to 4 KB of non-volatile Flash memory, and up to 176 bytes of RAM and E2 RAM. The board also comes with an 8-channel analog-to-digital converter (ADC), a 10-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC), a real-time clock (RTC) and additional features such as a low-power COM ports and USB connection.

The DEMO9S08SG32 board is designed to allow designers to quickly evaluate and develop system-level low power applications on the S08 MCU platform. The board is built around a 32-pin MCU and includes on-board voltage regulation and a 2-layer printed circuit board (PCB) layout. It also comes with two 40-pin expansion connectors to allow designers to easily develop and test expansion boards. The board is powered by a two-stage DC power regulator that can be configured for either 3.3V or 5V operation.
