The DFLZ68-TP can also be used in a voltage clamping circuit to regulate a voltage. In this type of circuit, an external capacitor is used to store charge, and then when the voltage reaches the breakdown voltage of the diode, the diode conducts current in the reverse direction and clamps the voltage to the breakdown voltage of the diode.
