.The DG412DJ is a product of Analog Devices, Inc. When the control signal applied to SW1 is low and the control signal applied to SW2 is high, the output at the common output terminal is determined by input 1. In this case, input 1 is routed through both of the switches and, hence, appears at the output terminal. Similarly, when the control signal applied to SW1 is HIGH and the control signal applied to SW2 is low, the output at the common output terminal is determined by input 4. Similarly, the eight inputs can be uniquely associated with outputs depending on the applied control signals.
In addition to being used as an analog multiplexer/demultiplexer, the DG412DJ can also be used as an analog switch, with one of the switches configured as a single-pole, single-throw (SPST) type and the other switch configured as a double-pole, single-throw (DPST) type. In this configuration, the DG412DJ can be used to route one input to two outputs, or two inputs to one output. This feature is especially useful for applications such as audio mixing, signal routing, signal conditioning and signal amplification.
