The DS1602S+ is a highly compact real-time clock (RTC) module for industrial applications. It is a self-contained synchronous device that includes an RTC chip, a battery, a crystal oscillator and a few other components. This RTC module is versatile and easy to use, and can be used in a wide variety of applications, including industrial automation and monitoring, POS systems, embedded systems, digital signage and many more.The DS1602S+ uses an on-board RTC chip as its time base, with an external 32.768 kHz crystal oscillator providing the clock signal. This design allows the DS1602S+ to maintain accurate timekeeping over long periods of time, even when disconnected from the main power. The DS1602S+ has an ultra low-power design that draws only 2 mA or less when in normal operation, and can draw as little as 0.5 µA when in sleep mode.The DS1602S+ has a programmable alarm, which can be used to generate a signal at a set time or interval. It also features a time-stamp function, which allows the user to store time-stamped events in the on-board SRAM. The DS1602S+ can be controlled via an I2C-compatible bus, allowing for easy integration into existing systems.The DS1602S+ provides several built-in peripherals, including three I/O ports, an A/D converter, a DAC and a PWM output.
