The DTC114YUA-TP is a single, pre-biased, bipolar junction transistor (BJT). This type of BJT is a junction field effect transistor (JFET) which is a three-layer semiconductor device with a gate, a source, and a drain. The device operates by having current flowing through the base, between the emitter and collector, which produces an electric field that induces a current across the collector-emitter junction. The DTC114YUA-TP is a high speed switch with a low voltage advantage, making it suitable for use in a range of applications.
