EL8178FSZ – Application field and Working PrincipleThe EL8178FSZ is a highly versatile linear amplifier designed for a wide range of instrumentation, OP amps, buffer amp applications. The EL8178FSZ is a two-stage differential amplifier which provides excellent precision and excellent dynamic range.The key components of the EL8178FSZ include a differential input stage, an output buffer, and a power stage. The output buffer amplifies the signal up to 80 dB making it suitable for driving various sources such as audio transducers, low/high voltage powers, and bridge circuits. The power stage consists of a P eff MOSFET, which has a very high current-carrying capacity and a flat frequency response. This allows the EL8178FSZ to accurately reproduce very detailed signal levels.The EL8178FSZ can be configured with three different types of input stages: a wide-band differential stage, a single-ended differential stage, and a single-ended common-mode stage. The wide-band differential stage offers very low noise and improved dynamic range for applications requiring a wide bandwidth with no unwanted harmonics. The single-ended differential stage provides excellent signal resolution and low noise with any amplifier load. The single-ended common-mode stage is best suited for applications in which the signal is ground or DC-referenced, such as in transducer applications.The EL8178FSZ also features an integrated thermal compensation circuit which allows it to maintain optimal operating temperatures even in extreme conditions. This thermal compensation reduces power consumption by minimizing the amount of energy consumed by the amplifier.In terms of performance, the EL8178FSZ offers excellent precision and low offset voltage (±0.2mV), excellent linearity (±1mV over the entire operating range), and very low noise (ac-related noise floor is -160dB). The distortion is typically less than 0.001% over the full operating range.The EL8178FSZ is designed for quick and easy configuration. It features a number of selectable options such as power supply decoupling and gain range selection. It also offers ESD protection for all I/O pins and is designed to handle up to 25V voltages.Overall, the EL8178FSZ is a highly versatile linear amplifier that can be used in a wide range of instrumentation, OP amps, and buffer amp applications. Thanks to its excellent precision, dynamic range, and low noise, the EL8178FSZ is an ideal solution for a variety of applications.
