?The EVAL-ADE7880EBZ is an Evaluation and Demonstration Boards and Kits from Analog Devices, Inc., which seeks to simplify the evaluation, design and prototyping of AC energy meters, building energy management systems, HVAC/R systems, motor/power control systems, and remote energy sensing applications as well as solar- and wind-powered energy generation and distribution systems.This kit enables users to easily use the ADE7880 single-phase energy metering IC. The EVAL-ADE7880EBZ is electrically compatible with Analog Devices’ GPIO-to-SPI2 (GPIO-SPI2) interconnect modules and can be used standalone, in a networked system, or in a chain of networked meters up to 125 metres in length.
The EVAL-ADE7880EBZ operates on the 3.3V power supply and includes additional features such as averaging filters, sample and hold, decimator, zero-crossing detectors, three concentration values setup, registers protection, and an isolated serial communication line. It is capable of automatically measuring, detecting and accumulating parameters such as current, phase, active and reactive power, phase angle, RMS voltage, frequency, power factor, and reactive power of both single-phase and three-phase networks.
