The KSZ8841-16MQL-EVAL is an Ethernet Physical Transceiver Evaluation Board from Microchip Technology Inc. that provides an easy-to-use platform for customers to evaluate the performance features of the KZ8841-16MQL Ethernet Physical transceiver.
The KSZ8841-16MQL-EVAL board is an Ethernet transceiver evaluation board that provides operating conditions and test points for both the KSZ8841-16MQL Ethernet Physical transceiver and KSZ8841-16MQL Ethernet Physical Interface. This evaluation board also provides a series of solder-on jumpers and test points for tracking the design parameters of the transceiver.
The KSZ8841-16MQL-EVAL board is designed to evaluate the electrical characteristics and performance of the KSZ8841-16MQL.-Transceiver. The board features a variety of components that can easily be adjusted for various test and design purposes. The evaluation board supports jumpers and test points for the following signals: RX_ER, Transmitter Enable (TE), Transmitter Data (TD), Receiver Data (RD), Common Mode (CM), and Link Status (LS).
The board also provides an easy-to-use link to a Microchip Technology Inc. Etherphy application suite for controlling the board\'s functions. The software program provides multiple tools to design, develop, debug, and optimize the transmit section of the board. It also enables users to test transmit and receive operations, as well as both the physical and logical layers of the network protocol that is being used on the board.
The software provides a graphical user interface (GUI) for users to customize the board\'s settings. The GUI contains a variety of configuration tabs that allow users to modify signal settings and physical layer parameters. The board also provides scope and logic capture tools that enable users to monitor the signal performance with respect to specified input and output parameters.
The KSZ8841-16MQL-EVAL board also provides test capabilities for carrier-sense multiple access/collision detection (CSMA/CD) frames, as well as receive link performance tests and physical layer media access control (MAC) functional tests. The board\'s software also supports traffic measurement tools and network protocol analysis to measure performance at the MAC layer.
