The EVAL-ADV7401EBZ Evaluation and Demonstration Board and Kit can be used to examine the performance of the ADV7401 digital video encoder, used in a variety of application fields. This evaluation board enables users to quickly assess the performance of the ADV7401, which incorporates a wide variety of features such as precision video image enhancing features, support for a variety of standard and specific-use video formats and resolutions along with digital and analog outputs. This evaluation board is an excellent platform for evaluating the capability of the ADV7401 to meet customer’s specific requirements in a variety of applications.The EVAL-ADV7401EBZ evaluation board includes the ADV7401 digital video encoder IC, an extensive hardware design package that can support a variety of input sources, and a Bit 1 encoder. The board offers up to 8-bit video processing resolution and supports a variety of high definition video formats including 1120x720, 1920x1080i/p, 2048x1080i, and 3840x2160p. Additionally, the board features LVDS (or LVDI) input and output interface, along with digital I/O, allowing users to connect external digital video receivers in order to receive and decode a variety of major digital video signals including standardDefinition (SD) and high-definition (HD).The EVAL-ADV7401EBZ evaluation board also features multiple voltage regulators and selectable power options that can accommodate a wide variety of target applications. This includes 5V regulators for high-temperature operation, 0.9V for audio codecs, and 1.2V for regulators supporting a voltage range of 1V to 1.2V. Each regulator can provide up to1A output current for a total of 3A across all rails. Additionally, the board also features DIP switches and jumpers that are used to adjust the voltage output of each rail, as well as coprocessor and I/O settings.The kit also includes a Windows-based control panel software application that enables users to control the board’s video capture settings to the ADV7401, monitor board activity, manage display options, and calibrate video output parameters. The control panel application also includes an A/D calibration utility, allowing users to configure the ADV7401 to meet target performance specifications. Furthermore, the application can be operated remotely over a network connection, and EVAL-ADV7401EBZ can be set up to use LVDS or HDMI to transport video data.In terms of working principle, the EVAL-ADV7401EBZ evaluation board is designed to convert incoming analog signals to digital data compatible with the ADV7401 chip. The board enables signals from a variety of sources to be connected to the ADV7401, such as HDMI, AD/AD, S-video, and composite video. The video input data is processed via the on-board ADC which is then converted to digital data using the ADV7401. The digitally encoded video data can be transmitted over HDMI or LVDS directly, or it can be stored digitally in the EVAL-ADV7401EBZ board memory for further processing.
