The EVAL-ADXL375Z-M is a low power, triaxial, digital output accelerometer in the Analog Devices MEMS (Micro Electro Mechanical Systems) product line. It is a highly integrated accelerometer designed for use in any embedded application. The EVAL-ADXL375Z-M is housed in a low profile, low power, miniature surface mount LTCC module measuring 3.00" x 3.00" x 0.750". This small packaging enables the EVAL-ADXL375Z-M to be integrated in small form factor designs and inside the devices where space is limited.The EVAL-ADXL375Z-M can measure acceleration across three axes in a full-scale range of +2, +4, +8, and +16 g with a selectable output data rate of 12.5 or 25 Hz. The accelerometer uses Analog Devices\' proprietary micro-machined technology and offers high performance with a wide dynamic range. The EVAL-ADXL375Z-M is ideal for applications such as automotive, aerospace, and consumer electronics.Application Field:The EVAL-ADXL375Z-M is ideal for applications such as automotive, aerospace, and consumer electronics. For example, the accelerometer can be used in automotive applications such as airbag sensing, stability control, and adaptive brake control. The EVAL-ADXL375Z-M is also used in aerospace applications such as inertial navigation, attitude sensing, and aircraft motion monitoring. In consumer electronics, the accelerometer can be used for motion sensing and gaming applications.Working Principle:The EVAL-ADXL375Z-M accelerometer is based on Analog Devices\' proprietary micro-machined technology and consists of a movable mass, attached to a spring beam by means of an anchor point. The movement of the mass is constrained within the package walls, as the movable mass is attached to the top and bottom of the package. When an acceleration force is applied, it causes the mass to deflect according to Newton\'s Second Law of Motion (F=ma). If the acceleration force is static, then the deflection of the mass will be linear over the full-scale range. As the acceleration forces increase, so does the deflection of the mass.The EVAL-ADXL375Z-M accelerometer uses two silicon strain gauge bridges on the MEMS (micro electro mechanical system) sensing element to measure the deflection of the mass. The strain gauges are connected in a Wheatstone bridge circuit, which measures the acceleration-induced resistance changes in the sensing element, and produces an electrical signal. This signal is then amplified and digitized by an on-chip Analog-to-Digital converter (ADC). The EVAL-ADXL375Z-M has a low power consumption and a wide dynamic range. It also works over a wide temperature range, from -40°C to +85°C, and has high performance in both shock and vibration environments. The accelerometer can measure acceleration in three axes at a selectable output data rate of 12.5 or 25 Hz. It also offers a built-in FIFO buffer to store and time-stamp impact events to prevent data loss due to the burst of acceleration.The overall performance and reliability of the EVAL-ADXL375Z-M accelerometer are highly dependent on the sensitivity, linearity, noise floor, and temperature coefficients of the MEMS sensing element. The MEMS sensing element is characterized by Analog Devices to ensure the highest level of accuracy and performance.The EVAL-ADXL375Z-M is now widely used in applications with space constraints, such as automotive, aerospace and consumer electronics. It is a reliable, low-power, widely-used accelerometer, which helps in motion tracking, impact sensing and other applications.
