At this time, the current in the secondary windings can be regulated by controlling the duty cycle of the switching control signals generated by the PWM control IC. The voltage in the secondary windings is regulated to a desired level using an error amplifier and a feedback loop. In the error amplifier, the error signal is generated by comparing the feedback signal with a reference voltage source. The error signal is then used to control the output voltage.

The EVAL5947A can be applied in a wide variety of applications such as power factor correction, lighting, switch mode charging, and electric motors. In power factor correction, the TMPS ensures a power factor close to unity by regulating the current flowing in the load circuit. In lighting applications, the TMPS can be used to provide a constant current source for LED or CFL lighting. In electric motor applications, the TMPS can be used to provide a constant voltage or frequency source. Lastly, in switch mode charging, the TMPS can be used to provide regulated voltages for charging batteries.
