The EVAL5983 is a universal evaluation board for DC/DC & AC/DC (off-line) Switch Mode Power Supplies (SMPS). This board has been designed to have the easiest possible evaluation platform for power supply designs. With its flexible configuration, the user can quickly evaluate a wide range of applications. It can be adapted to a variety of operating conditions and used to evaluate different types of power supplies, such as buck, boost, flyback, forward, bridge, push-pull, and full-wave rectifier/regulator. Since the EVAL5983 is an integrated evaluation board, it eliminates the need for creating a test setup or test power transformer.

The EVAL5983 provides the user with many available options to configure the board for various power supplies. It allows the user to vary the input voltage, switch type, topology, and many other parameters for the power supply. The board includes a standard 5V/1A SMPS power supply with an adjustable voltage range of 1V to 40V. It also features an adjustable current limit, adjustable frequency, and adjustable switching frequency.
