Eval6470PD is a high-performance, soft-start evaluation board which offers customers the ultimate flexibility and control of all critical power supplies. It is designed to maximize the performance and reduce the cost of customer design projects while providing the interchangeability, reliability, and scalability required for long term projects. Eval6470PD is designed to provide an efficient and cost effective solution for a wide range of customer applications like, medical, telecommunications, consumer electronics, automotive, motor controllers and more. Eval6470PD features a fully programmable gate driver package and a high voltage, low noise gate driver which can support up to 6-phase rail from ground to 200V. It also includes external voltage injector with integrated boost for high voltage applications.Eval6470PD is a multi-function evaluation board that enables customers to quickly and easily evaluate the performance of high-voltage MOSFETs, power MOSFETs, and other optoelectronic devices. It is a hexa-packaged MOSFET gate driver unit on a small printed circuit board with two DC input connections and three discrete outputs. The board includes an on-board delay circuit to automatically delay the turn-on of the gate to reduce the inrush current of the power supply. With the Eval6470PD, customers have complete control over all voltage, current, gate voltage, and gate current setpoints, along with remote control of the turn-on, turn-off, and hold features. Eval6470PD is designed to provide a wide variety of evaluation and demonstration scenarios.The working principle of Eval6470PD is based on a single stage MOSFET driver system. The board has two DC inputs, which can be connected either directly to the device or via a coupling capacitor. The output voltage from the gate driver is determined depending upon the value of the coupling capacitor, the on-board delay circuit, and the selected voltage range on the board. The output current of the gateway driver is set by the gate voltage and a selectable, adjustable resistor.The Eval6470PD evaluation board features an optional FLTR (floating rail) circuitry, which separates the MOSFET’s source and drain voltage during operation. This ensures that any high ground currents are isolated from any other high-voltage components, greatly reducing the possibility of damage to the device. Additionally, the FLTR circuitry protects the system from voltage transients, as the switching device’s gate-source voltage remains relatively constant.By providing precision control over voltage, current, gate voltage and gate current, the Eval6470PD evaluation board offers customers an ideal solution for high-performance applications. Its efficient, low-noise design, along with its wide range of user adjustment features, enable customers to easily and quickly evaluate point-of-load (POL) applications such as medical electronics, telecommunications and consumer electronics, motor controllers, and automotive.
