The FEP16BTHE3/45 is a diode array from the 35A Fast Recovery & Soft Recovery family that offers a cost-effective solution for power electronics designs.
Application Field
The FEP16BTHE3/45 is ideal for post-regulation rectification circuits in LED lighting, server, communications and other equipment, as well as for battery charger, solar inverter, and uninterruptible power supply applications. It can also be used as synchronous rectifier in DC-DC converters, as well as for freewheeling diode applications in DC-AC inverter circuits.
Working Principle
The FEP16BTHE3/45 is a three-phase rectifier with 4 diodes per phase. These diodes have a fast recovery capability with a maximum clamping voltage of 470 V. This makes them suitable for high-voltage AC-DC conversion in server and telecom applications, as well as for low-voltage AC-DC conversion in battery charger and solar inverter applications. The diode array is rated for a maximum current of 35 A, and it also features a built-in anti-parallel diode with a reverse blocking voltage of up to 600 V.
In addition to its high-current rating, the FEP16BTHE3/45 also offers a soft recovery capability, enabling higher efficiency and lower power losses in the rectification circuit. This is accomplished by controlling the reverse current during the reverse recovery of the diodes and limiting the voltage spike that could otherwise occur during reverse recovery.
