Optoisolators, also known as optocouplers, are solid state components with an LED (Light Emitting Diode) inside, which are able to provide electrical information transfer from one isolation circuit to another. Among various optoisolators, the IL4218-X006 belongs to the Triac, SCR Output device family, which provides two-way electrical isolation. In addition, it also offers highly reliable operation under various extreme environmental conditions. The IL4218-X006 optoisolator can be used in diverse scenarios, such as in motor controllers, solar inverters, programmable logic controllers, and various industrial automation and control systems. Furthermore, it is also used in equipment featuring high temperature loads and as an ideal choice when it comes to noise immunity solutions. The working frequency of the device can range from 10kHz up to 500kHz, and it has been designed to offer excellent current transfer ratios. The device has international safety protection approvals, such as the UL, IEC, and VDE standards.The internal optical component of the IL4218-X006 consists of a gallium arsenide infrared (GaAs IR) LED and a Flatable Silicon Phototransistor. In this optoisolator, the LED is triggered by a small amount of an input current, which manufactures an optical signal in the form of incoherent infrared light. This light is received by the phototransistor, which converts it into an electrical current. The reverse also works in a similar way. The outgoing current is converted into an optical signal, which is received by the phototransistor and converted into its corresponding electrical form. The voltage between the input side of the LED and the output side of the phototransistor in this device is around 3700 Vrms, with typical working voltages ranging from 350 to 700 V rms. Furthermore, it offers a high insulation resistance assumed to be around 10\^{}4 MMin a range of 125% of the rated working voltage. In other words, the maximum working voltage of the device should remain 625 V rms.The operating temperature range of the IL4218-X006 ranges from -55 °C up to 125 °C, with operating relative humidity ranging between 10% and 95%. In addition, the switching time of both the LED and the phototransistor ranges from 15 to 15 \mu s and 16 to 35 \mu s, respectively. Furthermore, the maxitransistor saturation voltage is 0.1 V (max), while the dark current of the device is specified at 0.2 \mu A (max).
