IR3651STRPBF Application Field and Working Principle
IR3651STRPBF is a high-performance, low-noise, monolithic synchronous buck voltage regulator, which is widely used in server, video card and gaming platform, etc. It can provide 3A output current at up to 1.2V output, and the external component count can be reduced. The IR3651STRPBF main feature includes a high-side and low-side MOSFET device which offer simultaneous switching slots, low quiescent current, low noise operation, external sense for sensing voltage, current mode control for enhanced line transients response and cycle-by-cycle current limit.
It belongs to PMIC – Voltage Regulators – DC DC Switching Controllers. Its working principle is based on the Remote Sense feature and is designed to regulate output voltage at the point of load regardless of the line losses. This Remote Sense feature is usually employed in systems having long lines of cables that connect the power supply to the load, which enables the output voltage at the load to remain stable and independent of the cable/transformer/bus drops that tend to reduce the actual voltage at the load.
