When the gate voltage is high, the transistor switches on and the drain-source current will increase. When the gate voltage is low, the transistor switches off and the drain-source current will drop.

The IRGSL4640DPBF also has a Vce(o) rating of up to 650V. This Vce(o) rating is the maximum voltage that can be placed across the collector-emitter terminals without damage to the transistor. The Vce(o) rating should never exceed the Operating Vce or maximum Vce ratings.
