IS61C1024AL-12JLI-TR is an integrated static memory chip that consists of 1024K bits of static RAM organized as 128K words by 8 bits. It is fabricated using high performance CMOS technology and is pin and functionally interchangeable with the Texas Instruments TMS61024A. A 14-pin SOJ is available upon request.

The IS61C1024AL-12JLI-TR is commonly used in data acquisition, communications, calibration and test equipment and embedded control systems. It has a power supply voltage of +12V and is offered in commercial temperatures of -55C to +125C and industrial temperatures of -40C to +85C. The standby current is 10µA to 20µA and the operating current is 130mA.

Working Principle

The IS61C1024AL-12JLI-TR utilizes a static RAM cell to store data. This static RAM cell consists of two transistors and a capacitor which hold the charge and the data for an extended period of time. In order for data to be written or erased from the chip, the transistors in the static RAM cell are switched on or off depending on the data. As the chip utilizes static RAM, the data will remain in the chip until it is erased or powered off.

The IS61C1024AL-12JLI-TR provides an address latch to store the address. When the address bus is latched in the address latch, data can be read or written to the selected memory location. The data bus provides the necessary data to be read or written to the memory location. The chip also provides an asynchronous read and write command to allow the system to access the chip without waiting for the clock. The read and write operations can be performed at a speed of 6.5MHz.

In order to ensure that data is stored correctly, the IS61C1024AL-12JLI-TR also uses an error correcting code to protect the stored data from errors. This code will detect errors in data stored to the chip and correct them in order to ensure that data integrity is maintained.
