Application Field

Working Principle

The ISL6125IRZA-T has three operating modes to support various battery technologies. First is Linear Mode in which the IC provides constant current and voltage. Second is Constant Voltage Mode in which the IC adjusts its power to maintain the output voltage within a predetermined range. Lastly, Automatic Current Limiting Mode can be used with fast charging battery technologies as it is able to reduce current levels during fast charging. Furthermore, it is able to detect and protect against battery over-voltage, over-temperature and over-current conditions.

Also, the ISL6125IRZA-T has an integrated under-voltage protection feature to protect the battery from accidental deep discharge. It also features thermal regulation, which precisely regulates the charge current over the temperature range thereby providing improved accuracy. Additionally, the ISL6125IRZA-T also has a programmable current limit up to twice the programmed value, providing additional headroom for inrush currents.

Additionally, the ISL6125IRZA-T has comprehensive safety protection features such as under-voltage lockout, thermal shutdown and soft-start to prevent overload or short circuit conditions. The IC also includes reverse battery protection to safely shut down the system when connected to a reverse battery. It also has automatic cell detection feature which can detect if the battery connected is of the right voltage.
