The working principle of the ISL6130IRZA is based on selecting the optimal power conversion topology from the flyback, buck and boost switching power mode, depending on the supply voltage, output current and peak power needs. It also contains embedded control logic to control the operation of the power controller and step-up/step-down dc-dc converter.In the flyback mode, the IC controls the main switch by using a fast start/stop current-controlled pulsewidth modulation (PWM) scheme. The integral switch current sensing, together with the externally-programmable current limit, ensures optimal power conversion with minimal output voltage ripple. The ic also has integrated temperature and safety shut-down protection.In buck and boost mode, the ISL6130IRZA employs an innovative, robust step-down/step-up control technique in order to maintain desired output voltage. The IC also integrates MOSFET drivers for efficiently controlling the power devices, as well as low-noise dual low-pass filters for filtering the generated high-frequency switching noise.
