Working Principle of ISL6412IRZ
The ISL6412IRZ is a linear low-dropout (LDO) regulator that uses a series pass element between a high-FET and a bucker FET and offers a wide input voltage range of 2.25V-5.5V with an output current of up to 3A. The low-dropout voltage feature enables the device to operate in high current applications with more than 93% efficiency.The ISL6412IRZ has a built-in over-temperature protection (OTP) to reduce the temperature stress on the device and its components. The device also offers output voltage tracking, which enables the output voltage to be set accurately and hold tight 0.4% accuracy over-line and load. The output voltage of the device can be precisely trimmed to the output voltage with a single resistor.In addition, the ISL6412IRZ is equipped with over-current protection, under-voltage lockout, and over-voltage protection features. The over-current protection feature can quickly reduce the output current of the device, while the under-voltage lockout and over-voltage protection features can protect the device from high input voltage as well as over-voltage.
