ISL6742BAAZA-T Application Field and Working Principle

ISL6742BAAZA-T, also known as a Point-of-Load (POL) switched-mode power supply controller, is an important member of the ISL6742 product family from Intersil Corporation. The ISL6742BAAZA-T is a highly integrated power supply controller that is capable of synchronous rectification, adaptive voltage positioning (AVP) functionality and current-mode operation. It features a high switching frequency, wide operating voltage range and high accuracy. The ISL6742BAAZA-T operates over an input voltage range of 3.3V to 14V, with an adjustable output voltage ranging from 0.6V to 5V. The device can be configured with externally adjustable frequency or internally configured to run at a fixed switching frequency of up to 1kHz.
The ISL6742BAAZA-T incorporates synchronous rectifier switch (SR) design to additional reduce losses and improve system efficiency by as much as 95%. Together with its very low quiescent current of 6uA, the ISL6742BAAZA-T can be used in applications needing low power consumption and high efficiency.
