The ISL6755AAZA-T is a DC/DC switch controller driver IC specifically designed for powering CPU cores. The controller has a non-linear transconductance loop compensator and internal slew rate control, making it ideal for managing the toggle rate while allowing very low output voltage ripple. It is used in high power applications such as microprocessors, network processors, gaming consoles, and ASICs in order to facilitate parameter selection and maximize power efficiency.

The ISL6755AAZA-T operates on a wide input voltage range of 4.6V to 15V and is capable of providing up to 45A of continuous output current. It features synchronous rectifiers for higher efficiency, adjustable switching slew-rate control for improved stability, fixed output voltage, and current mode control. The device consists of a main driver and an auxiliary driver for driving two half-bridge MOSFETs, two low-side MOSFETs, and three noise cancellation filters. The auxiliary driver can drive low-side MOSFETs and an n-channel MOSFET, while the main driver can drive high-side MOSFETs.

The ISL6755AAZA-T uses an advanced current mode architecture to create and regulate the output voltage. It achieves this by comparing the output voltage to a reference voltage and adjusting the duty cycle accordingly. The advanced loop compensation filters allow for a maximum achievable output voltage of 0.1% error. Furthermore, the device has a range of programmable features such as soft-start, load line adjustment, and output voltage margining for advanced system configuration.

Other features of the ISL6755AAZA-T include thermal protection, over-current protection and under-voltage lockout (UVLO). It is available in a space-saving 16-pin, 4.6x4.6mm QFN package, making it suitable for use in space-constrained applications.
