The IXDI514D1 is a single high-current, high-voltage CMOS gate driver IC, suitable for driving one half of an IGBT using a low-voltage(4.5 V to 5.5 V) single power supply, or for driving bridge-connected MOSFETs. As a product from IXYS, the IXDI514D1 is mainly used in PMIC - Gate Drivers applications and has various RDS-on(on) voltage level definitions.
The IXDI514D1 integrates a quasi-resonant 512 bit digital clock and a latch circuit on-chip. It offers high accuracy and low EMC emission, in addition to the energy-saving features of the quasi-resonant clock. The IXDI514D1 also features an operating supply range from 4.5 V to 30 V, signal input and output voltages ratings from -20 V to 20 V, and fault sensing up to two times the power voltage.
The IXDI514D1 is a very versatile and robust gate driver product with a wide range of protection and monitoring features, such as over-voltage, under-voltage, reverse polarity and short circuit protection. The IXDI514D1 also features integrated diagnostic and protective functions, such as fault reporting, warning and lock out. All this makes the IXDI514D1 an ideal choice for driving IGBTs in medium to high power application.
The IXDI514D1 gate driver can be used to drive either an N- and P-channel IGBT device in half-bridge applications or two P-channel devices in push-pull applications. The IXDI514D1 can operate from a single power supply of 4.5 V to 5.5 V and provides an output current of 4 A peak to 6 A peak. The IXDI514D1 features a low RDS-on(on) levels, from 1.2 mΩ to 6 mΩ. It also includes an advanced fault-protection circuit for both internal and external devices.
The IXDI514D1 gate driver has an optimized thermal performance, thanks to its 4-layer lead frame substrate and through-hole mounting. The package size enables it to be easily integrated into any application. In addition, the IXDI514D1 provides various output protection and diagnostics, with fault reporting, warning, and lock out signals.
