The JANTX1N649UR-1 is a single diode rectifier designed with a low forward voltage drop, high surge capability and low leakage current in order to meet the needs of high-current rectifier applications. The device features a glass-passivated chip junction to minimize leakage current leakage and reduce processing through the use of a PN junction. The JANTX1N649UR-1 is ideal for low-loss power rectification and moderate surge current applications, including data communications, central office supplies, endpoint devices, inverters, and power supplies.
Working principle
A diode rectifier is an electrical device which is composed of two terminals and a one-way conducting path, which permits the flow of current in one direction while blocking in the other direction. The anode and cathode pins of the JANTX1N649UR-1 can be identified by their relationship with the embossed pad of the chip. The anode is connected to the anode pad through an internal solder joint on the chip. The cathode is represented by the pad. When a forward bias is applied to the anode-cathode junction, electrons from the anode will pass quickly across the junction towards the cathode side due to the junction\'s relatively low resistance, resulting in a high current flow. Conversely, when a reverse bias is applied to the junction, the diode begins to act as an insulator and the current flow is almost completely blocked.
