The L5972D is a monolithic step-down switching regulator from STMicroelectronics. It is an advanced device specifically designed for applications requiring high current and very high efficiency, such as DSPs, FPGAs, digital video, USB and network controllers, as well as battery powered systems. The device incorporates low voltage regulator and LDO functions. It features a low quiescent current of only 3 mA in active mode and a very low dropout voltage at full load for improved efficiency.
