This is the most common topology used in off-line power supplies, and it offers great performance and flexibility, with minimal external components.

The device works according to the following principle: when a low voltage, low current input is applied, the primary side of the transformer starts to conduct current in order to transform the input voltage and current into a higher secondary voltage and current.
