Introduction

The L6727 is a step-down DC/DC switching controller from STMicroelectronics, a division of STMicroelectronics N.V. Working Principle

The switching action is synchronized with the Valley Current Sense signal, with the input voltage being sensed during the rising edge of the PWM signal and the output voltage being sensed during the falling edge.The peak-current sensing circuit regulates the maximum current supplied by the MOSFET switch. The peak current is proportional to the current sense resistor and can be programmed to the desired value.The cycle-by-cycle current limit and dead time control are used to ensure protection against short circuit, over temperature and over voltage.
