TVS – Diodes are widely used in various applications due to their low cost, easy availability, and high reliability. In particular, the LCE22 series of TVS – Diode has been specifically designed for use in high-voltage, high-power applications.

A TVS – Diode consists of a semiconductor package with two electrical paths, known as the diode body and the terminals. The diode body is a semiconductor material, such as silicon, which is shaped into a p/n-junction. The terminals are the two metal parts of the diode – a cathode and an anode. When voltage is applied to the diode body, electrons move towards the terminals and form an electrical current.

The LCE22 series of TVS – Diode uses a high-voltage, high-power MOSFET (Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor Field-Effect Transistor) as the base material. The MOSFET is efficiently coupled with the diode body so that when a voltage is applied to the terminals, electrons are drawn towards the diode body and an electrical current is created. The LCE22 series of TVS – Diode is designed for both AC and DC applications. In AC applications, the diode will protect against high-voltage transient surges due to lightning, power switching, and line voltage changes. In DC applications, the diode will protect against overvoltage caused by current spikes, high-voltage breakdowns, and incorrect power connections.
