The LM25085SD/NOPB is a high voltage DC/DC controller from National Semiconductor that supports current mode control architecture and is designed for synchronous buck applications. It operates from an input voltage of 6.0V to 60V, and provides an adjustable output voltage of 0.85V to 94.5V.
The LM25085SD/NOPB DC/DC controller uses a current-mode control architecture, providing fast transient response, improved line and load regulation, and a smaller external component count. The LM25085SD/NOPB automatically compensates for external component tolerances, eliminating manual calculations and allowing the use of low ESR ceramic capacitors. The LM25085SD/NOPB DC/DC controller provides a type 2 feedback design with adjustable over-voltage protection and external soft-start. The device can be operated directly from either a voltage or variable frequency clock source. Additionally, the device supports Over-Temperature Protection and Cycle-by-Cycle Current Limit.
The LM25085SD/NOPB DC/DC controller is ideal for applications such as automotive, industrial, and distributed power systems. It is available in a thermally enhanced Exposed Pad TSSOP-14 package and is fully qualified to AEC-Q100 Grade 1 standards.
Working Principle of LM25085SD/NOPB
The LM25085SD/NOPB is a synchronous buck DC-DC controller designed to operate with an external high-side MOSFET and low-side MOSFET for efficient conversion of voltage. It uses a current mode control architecture which allows for fast transient response, improved line and load regulation, and fewer external components. The device contains an accurate and efficient current-mode loop which compensates for external component tolerances, eliminating manual calculations and allowing the use of low ESR ceramic capacitors.
