The LM2937IMPX-10/NOPB is built on a 16-pin, micro SMD package and is capable of providing linear regulation of three independently programmable output voltages, one adjustable output and two fixed outputs with a minimum load current of 100 μA.OverviewThe LM2937IMPX-10/NOPB is a triple output linear regulator based on the Texas Instruments voltage regulator IC family LM2937I. The IC has 3 independent output voltages that can be adjusted to meet specific needs. The adjustable output can be set by a single external resistor and the two fixed outputs are preprogrammed on the chip. One of these outputs is optimized for use as a memory backup supply. The LM2937IMPX-10/NOPB has the capability to provide up to 200mA of regulated output current in adjustable mode and 100µA in fixed mode operation. VLSSR stands for Voltage, Low Side, Shunt, Series Regulator. In the case of the LM2937IMPX-10/NOPB, the VLSSR works through a two-stage topology which involves an input regulation stage and an output regulation stage. In the input stage, the output voltage is maintained by a resistor divider circuit, involving two resistors and a shunt regulator. In this configuration, the output voltage is determined by the ratio of the two resistors. The shunt regulator then compares the output voltage to a reference voltage and adjusts its output current accordingly to maintain the output voltage.
