Application Field and Working Principle

The LM43602PWPR is a highly efficient, low noise, and wide input voltage range step-down (buck) DC/DC regulator and is classified as a PMIC (Power Management IC), Voltages Regulators, and DC-DC Switching Regulators. The LM43602PWPR present multiple features to provide excellent load and line regulation, fast transient response and minimal external components, making it suitable for many different DC/DC applications.The LM43602PWPR application field includes but is not limited to various portable and portable gaming devises, car audio systems, automotive infotainment systems, industrial control systems and more. The LM43602PWPR also has a very low ripple voltage, wide input voltage range, under-voltage protection, current limit, and over-temperature protection, further extending its applications.The LM43602PWPR buck converter operates according to the pulse-width modulation (PWM) principle. The input voltage is filtered and converted to a regulated direct current (DC) at the process of buck conversion. This process has two main parts, full wave rectifiers and low pass filter. The input voltage is rectified to a dc voltage by a full-wave rectifier and then the large punctuality transistors reduced the voltage to a lower value using in the gate terminal of the transistor.The process occurs within the buck regulator and its oscillator, which are integrated into the device. The oscillator frequency is set by a resistor that is connected to the RT pin. The switching occurs between the high and low state of the oscillator and it is used to achieve the voltage switching in the buck regulator. The constant turn on and off of the switching transistors takes place and the circuit maintains stable output current by adjusting the on/off times of the transistors (also defined as duty cycle). The output voltage ripple and noise are lower than a standard buck regulator as the LM43602PWPR utilizes a new technology, a hybrid topology, also known as discontinuous conduction mode (DCM). In DCM, the inductor current is not continuous, instead it is pulsed in customer intervals and since output voltage ripple only occurs when switches are active and the switches are nearly off right after the inductor charging, the output voltage ripple is greatly decreased. In addition, the LM43602PWPR incorporate an integrated voltage amplifier that stabilize the peak inductor current and output ripple, which helps to improve the system transients, suppress the peak overshoot and make ripple and noise very low, extending the range of output current.All in all, the LM43602PWPR is an advanced and efficient, small footprint buck converter and its characteristics combined with the integrated features, have made this device an ideal choice for a wide variety of DC/DC applications.
