The switching period of the power transistor is regulated by a feedback signal, which is a function of the output voltage.The switch is driven by a DC to AC converter that produces a switching waveform. This waveform is used to regulate the output voltage VOUT by causing the switch to be in either the "on" or "off" state depending on the voltage level of the input voltage VIN. When the switch is in the "on" state, it allows current to flow through it and the output voltage rises, while when the switch is in the "off" state, no current is allowed to flow and the output voltage drops.
