Working Principle
The LP3470IM5X-2.93 is designed to generate an active-low RESET signal for power-on reset (POR), power-fail reset (PFR), or brown-out reset (BOR) events. It can reset the system if any of the following three conditions occur: (1) The voltage at either VCC1 or VCC2 falls below the brown-out voltage level; (2) The VCC2 voltage is below the power-fail/undervoltage lockout (UVLO) threshold; or (3) An overtemperature warning signal is received. It also includes an input called RESB (Reset Band) which is active when both the VCC1 and VCC2 voltages are above the Brown Out level. The RESB signal will reset the system if the voltage at VCC1 and VCC2 is below UVLO for a period of time.
The LP3470IM5X-2.93 has a Comprehensive Power-On Sequencing (CPOS) feature which allows users to program the order in which various voltage rails rise. This allows for more efficient power distribution, easing board layout and reducing power losses. The LP3470IM5X-2.93 can control up to 8 independent voltage rails. Any of the rails can be configured to have a programmable voltage rise time, allowing for power conservation and preventing glitches on the rising rails.
The LP3470IM5X-2.93 also provides Manufacturability, Assembly, Component Placement, and Testability (MACPT) features. This allows the user to program an active-low output signal to be asserted after the power-on sequence is complete.
