In the second level the junction temperature is monitored to prevent overtemperature conditions prior to entering the Thermal and Keep-Out Zone.

The POR circuit monitors supply voltage and ensures that the output voltage is reset when the supply voltage is low and the output is out of regulation. The output short-circuit protection if applied to the external bypass capacitor of the regulator. Larger values will increase capacitor size, but may degrade performance or result in noise or ripple.
