Working Principle

The LT3487EDD#TRPBF is built around patented on-time and power-tracking control techniques. At the start of each cycle, the on-time for the switch is determined by an internal oscillator and a comparator circuit with a reference voltage derived from the output voltage and the external feedback resistor ratio. The switch is then turned on and the output voltage is monitored by the power-tracking comparator. As the input voltage rises, the switch on-time is automatically reduced, increasing efficiency. This process is repeated until the desired output voltage is achieved.
