PMIC - Voltage Regulators - DC DC Switching Controllers
LV5068V-MPB-H is a DC DC switching controller for multiple applications, especially for the DC-DC converter. It can operate in PWM mode with a high-frequency operation from 500KHz to 1MHz. Its on-chip comparators provide an instantaneous feedback for an accurate measurement of input voltage and output current. The LV5068V-MPB-H also features constant frequency current mode (CFCM) control for regulating and switching a wide range of output voltages.

Working Principle
LV5068V-MPB-H is based on constant frequency, current mode control with an adjustable peak current of 1A. It combines a high performance instability and non-overlapping control. Internal circuitry eliminates the need for external compensation for most applications. Its 1A peak current is regulated by the voltage at the CTRL pin, which is monitored using a pair of internal comparators.
The switching frequency of LV5068V-MPB-H can be adjusted through an external resistor connected to the FREQ pin, for the purpose of choosing a good compromise between performance, solution size and cost. The FREQ pin also integrates frequency synchronization. The external resistor enables the device to generate a PWM signal out of the OCP pin to drive other peripherals.
The LV5068V-MPB-H allows the operation of buck converters in fixed frequency, current-mode control. This operation eliminates the requirement for bulky input and output bulk capacitors. In addition, having a programmable error amplifier and overload protection, the LV5068V-MPB-H reduces design effort, component count and the cost of the DC-DC converter.
The LV5068V-MPB-H also features overvoltage protection and short-circuit protection. It has a high-side MOSFET gate drive voltage that is adjustable from 1V to 25V. The LV5068V-MPB-H is also capable of working in low operating voltages, with a low overshoot current mode.
