Application Field

This device is a low-cost Serial Flash memory, offering 2Mb (256KB) of memory density with the versatile Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI). It is ideal for networking appliances, flat panel display controllers and personal computers, where data is read or written to or from the memory without the need of a secondary parallel interface or extra pins.

The serial I/O interface is suitable for nonvolatile data storage with high-reliability access in a space-saving design. The M25P10-AVMP6TG provides a maximum clock frequency of 104MHz and 135MHz for SPI (Standard Clock Frequency) and Dual/Quad SPI (High Speed Clock Frequency). It also provides a hold time tHOLD > 3.5ns for the dual/quad interface.

Working Principle

The M25P10-AVMP6TG Serial Flash utilizes 3V3 supply voltage and is accessible through its four-wire serial peripheral interface. Advanced Write Protection allows the user to lock the sector contents using a single command, while data is transferred through the serial pins. A quad version of the write enable command is available for increased write performance. Additionally, the erase command is executed through a single command sequence.

The device contains support for globally uniquesecurity features, such as One TimeProgrammable (OTP) area for programming unique keys and Text area for moduleid/part-number strings. Optionally, these areas may be programmed with customer-specific text, which is used for identification and verification of the product.

The device\'s unique "Write Protection Lock (WPL)" command allows a user to lock the sector contents storage device, eliminating an access to the device within the same sub-index that initiated the command. Configurations including two WPL commands are available with the same sub-index.
