The M25PX32-VMW6E device, a Memory, is the first 32Mbit addition to the Flash family, Spansion’s FlashPlus memory. The device provides increased memory density and low-power consumption while extending the range of Spansion’s production-proven serial Flash devices. The M25PX32-VMW6E can be used for remapping memory, increasing program storage capacity, and distributed computing applications. It is suitable for applications supporting low-voltage operation and providing extended storage life.

The M25PX32-VMW6E device is constructed of a single polymer/silicon composite. The device is organized as 256Mb x 32 and is fabricated on a 90-nm process. The M25PX32-VMW6E operates from a single 2.7-3.6V voltage supply and is capable of operating over an extended temperature range from -40 °C to 85 °C. The device does not require any external components; the write protect line, status register and associated address lines are all internally controlled. The device\'s internal circuitry consists of a control register, address register, and a programming register. The address register is used to store the address of the memory or data to be written. The device also does not require any code or data protection to ensure a long data retention time. The device features auto-deselect for better erase and write performance and supports 16-byte page programming and the atomic write feature. Co-processor instructions and a page lock feature helps reduce program times and improves reliability in mission critical applications.

The M25PX32-VMW6E is perfect for applications where both low cost and high-capacity Flash memory are needed.
