The MAX1162EVKIT evaluation board is a versatile platform designed to evaluate the performance of MAX1162 analog-to-digital converter (ADC) integrated circuits. It offers evaluation of the MAX11617, MAX1162E, MAX1162H, and MAX1162L multi-channel 16-bit SAR (successive approximation register) ADC products. The EVKIT is capable of sampling single and multiple channels and contains low-noise signal conditioning, the MAX1162 ADC, and a USB control interface. Its compact form factor and onboard power regulation allow users to rapidly and easily evaluate system performance.The MAX1162EVKIT is designed to allow maximum flexibility in selecting input voltage range, power, reference voltage, and digital signal output. It features an extensive set of test points that provide access to all signal levels, from the ADC stimulus inputs to the ADC-10 logic output word formats. Users can also interface the MAX1162EVKIT with a graphical user interface (GUI) and LabVIEW software to configure and evaluate the ADC performance.The MAX1162EVKIT features an on-board power regulator that provides a regulated 5V and 3V supplies and enables the board to operate from just one power source. It also includes two on-board voltage references: the MAX1162’s native, 2.5V reference and a replaceable 3.3V reference. This allows the user to select the full-scale input range of the ADC.The MAX1162EVKIT includes a suite of input signal conditioning circuitry that is designed to extend the dynamic range of the ADC. This circuitry includes a wide range of gain ranges, a low-pass filter with configurable filter performance, and an adjustable current source to improve the ADC’s low-level performance.The MAX1162EVKIT also supports multiple ADC result formats, including left-justified and right-justified. The board supports both 10-bit and 8-bit output results with variable output coefficients. The output data can be analysed in either unsigned format or two’s complement format.
