The MAX11665EVKIT evaluation board is a powerful evaluation platform providing engineers and designers complete system level and circuit-level design, debugging, and testing capabilities for a variety of applications involving analog-to-digital converters (ADCs). Ideal for general purpose data-acquisition applications, the MAX11665EVKIT includes the specialized building blocks necessary to allow engineers and designers to quickly and easily develop complete, fully functional systems utilizing the latest ADC technology.
The entire evaluation platform consists of three primary components: the on-board data acquisition system, the evaluation board, and the software which is included. The onboard data acquisition system consists of the MAX11665EVKIT, the onboardadc, and the on-board AMux, all connected to the PC by a standard USB port. The evaluation board provides the electrical and mechanical interface to the onboardadc and to the on-board AMux; additionally, it provides the necessary power sources and I/O connections to external circuits. Finally, with the included software, the engineer or designer can easily configure the analog input channels,stimulate the input signals, and quickly acquire and analyze data.
The MAX11665EVKIT is a complete evaluation platform supported by both hardware and software. The primary goal is to aid an engineer or designer in developing and testing new applications involving analog-to-digital converters. The hardware portion consists of the application board, the on-board adc, an on-board AMux, and on-board signal conditioner. The application board is a comprehensive environment that provides power and consists of an integrated set of components and circuitry that allow the engineer or designer to quickly obtain reliable data from their digital acquisition system. These components and circuitry include an MCU and power supply, an MCU/PLL, a buffer circuit, an RC oscillator, and an analog voltage regulator.
The on-board MCU and power supply provide a stable platform for the connected circuitry; the MCU/PLL synchronizes the data capture process, acting as a digital clock for the ADC; and the RC oscillator provides an accurate stable reference clock to the ADC. Additionally, the application board includes the circuitry necessary to condition the analog inputs prior to digitizing them. This circuitry is also used to control the gain and offset of the analog signal prior to digitization.
The on-board ADC processes analog input signals and converts these analog values into a digital output. This digital value is then stored in memory and can be utilized for further analysis or manipulation. The analog-to-digital converter is the most important aspect of the evaluation platform and provides the engineer or designer with essential insights about their project.
The MAX11665EVKIT evaluation board is ideal for a range of applications including instrumentation, industrial process control, and communications.
