The MAX14738EVKIT# is an evaluation and demonstration board that can be used to evaluate the interesting features of the MAX14738, which offers Enhanced Single-Wire Interface (ESI) as well as performing Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) control. It also includes a MAX17698 PMIC (PMU) Evaluation Board and an optional MAX17609 Daughter Card which adds additional features to the board.The MAX14738EVKIT# provides an ideal means to evaluate the performance of the MAX1472chip, an enhanced single-wire interface (ESI). The MAX14738EVKIT# also provides a convenient way to evaluate the MAX17698 PMIC (PMU) Evaluation Board features as well as those features on the optional MAX17609 daughter board. The MAX14738EVKIT# board contains a MAX14738, which is an enhanced single-wire control interface, designed to allow communication between a microcontroller and a linear regulator. It provides voltage level control, temperature detection, and allows the use of Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) protocol. The MAX14738 also contains an over temperature ‘wake’ feature that creates an ‘intelligent wakeup’ interrupt from the board. The MAX14738EVKIT# board also includes a MAX17698 PMIC (PMU) Evaluation Board, which is used to evaluate the system features of the MAX76980 PMIC. This can be used to evaluate the performance of the MAX17698 IC in a wider range of applications. The MAX17698 PMIC (PMU) Evaluation Board includes two voltage regulators, a +1.8V Low Dropout (LDO) linear regulator, and a +1.2V synchronous rectifier boost converter. In addition to the two voltage regulators, the MAX17698 PMIC (PMU) Evaluation Board also features a 12-bit ADC, USB-OTG 2.0 PHY, GPIOs, Fan controller, Temperature Sensor, Voltage Sensor, Clock Generator, a 2-channel pulse width modulation (PWM) controller, a 12-bit DAC, and a Watchdog Timer. The MAX14738EVKIT# also includes an optional MAX17609 Daughter Board. This board extends the capabilities of the MAX17698 PMIC Evaluation Board and adds additional features to it. The MAX17609 Daughter Board adds low-current LED control, DC/DC buck regulator, over-temperature protection, and four I/O pins to the MAX17698 PMIC (PMU) Evaluation Board. It also includes a 2-channel Pulse-width Modulation (PWM) controller, a boost converter, a resonator/clock generator, a voltage reference, and a current sense amplifier for LED current control.The applications for the MAX14738EVKIT# board are numerous. It can be used for thermal management systems, LED lighting applications, power management and control, and automotive applications. It is ideal for development and prototyping in a wide variety of applications such as consumer electronics, computing systems, medical device, LED lighting, and automotive/aerospace components.
