The MAX1482CPD is a high-performance, quad transceiver line driver/receiver chipset integrated circuit (IC) with 18-MHz capable frequency. It is a component used in data communications applications to convert differential voltage signals to single-ended voltage levels and vice versa. Working Principle

The MAX1482CPD operates on two modes, namely transmit (TX) and receive (RX). In the TX mode, the chipset converts a single-ended signal level to a differential signal computer. This is achieved by the operation of the two differential data output buffers. In the RX mode, the MAX1482CPD performs the reverse operation of converting a differential signal to a single-ended signal. Both of these operations are achieved through the serial control of the two dedicated differential line transceivers based on the TX/RX mode.

The MAX1482CPD also includes a capacitive ESD protection circuit. This circuit guards the data lines against external electrostatic discharge, thus preventing any damage to the IC and allowing high-speed data transmission without any degradation of signal quality.
